Welcome to the Vancouver Hebrew Academy Early Childhood Centre.

Here at our program, Morah Rivka and Morah Helene provide a warm, caring, safe, and nurturing environment where children can grow emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Each child is given the opportunity to explore his/her world, at their own pace, grow and develop in the proper Torah Derech (Torah Way). We are both professionally trained early childhood educators who are dedicated to the cognitive, emotional and social development of each child.

Our curriculum in the Torah Studies has a strong emphasis on Midos Tovos (Fine Character) and Derech Eretz (Proper behavioral skills.) Throughout the year we will learn Parashas Hashavua (Weekly Torah Portion), celebrate the Yomim Tovim (Jewish holidays), Shabbos, our connection to Eretz Yisrael (the land of Israel), and a pre-reading/writing readiness program. In our secular department, the children will be exposed to literature, mathematics, sciences, social studies, music, games and art. We strongly believe in integrating our Judaic and secular curriculum in a fun and meaningful way. This allows the broadening of the children's learning experience in providing them with a well-rounded education. We strive to provide our students with every opportunity to maximize their potential and help them develop their social and inter-personal skills, as well as their sensory experience and physical development.

The children of today receive confusing messages about morality, how to measure success in life, and how to make wise decisions. Together, you as the parent and we as the teachers should strive to give our children the necessary tools to face our society and succeed both academically and as Torah Jews. This is the essence of what our program sets out to do: touch the hearts and minds of each of its students.
